We couldn't arrange a time to get together with our social worker until 9:00 p.m. I had Back to School Night and she was teaching a class. So we waited. We found it hard to keep focused at work. We couldn't tell anyone anything.
After dinner we waited anxiously for the social worker to arrive. I think I was pacing like an expectant father waiting for the news. Actually, I was bustling around cleaning the house while I waited. Finally the doorbell rang. We sat down with the social worker as she pulled the information out of the envelope.
We were overwhelmed by how good her health history looked. Could this be really happening? Then the social worker pulled out a small envelope. She said, "Would you like to see the pictures?" We both jumped out of our seats. Of course we wanted to see the pictures!! When we saw Han Byeol we both fell in love. There was no way we could turn down this referral. She said that we have 2 weeks to let the agency know about our decision. They recommended that we have a doctor look over the information before we accept.
After the social worker left we called our parents to let them know the good news. It was pretty late (11 p.m), but we decided that we could wake them up for a baby announcement.
