Lydia's First Trip to the Zoo

Our church family is awesome. They have blessed us in so many ways. One example is that our senior pastor and his wife gave Lydia some free passes to the Tulsa zoo a couple of months ago. We finally used those passes and went to the zoo with two other families from church.

Lydia had a great time exploring the zoo. So many new things to see and do!

She loved the feel of the large marble globe that spins around in water - cool and smooth.

At the petting zoo one of the lambs said a very loud "Baa" after Lydia touched it. She was a little "sheepish" after that.

She really got into playing the role of the monkey and even ate a banana with lunch.

It was a fun family outing.
Lydia enjoyed seeing the ducks (Canada geese), the turtles and tortoises. We were envious of the bears as they climbed in and out of their cool swimming holes on such a hot day. Other animals we saw included elephants, a giraffe, kangaroos, penguins, prairie dogs, otters and a zebra. We ate a picnic lunch, which of course included animal crackers. (Don't tell PETA). The day ended with a train ride back to the front of the zoo and a promise that we would return someday.
