Grooming Tex

My idea for the "fountain of Lydia" post was vetoed by the wife. I'll just leave it to your imagination . . .

Today, Katy called me into Lydia's room to witness Lydia "grooming" her rocking horse, Tex. Tex was a gift from my Aunt and Uncle in Texas. If you pinch his ears, he makes galloping sounds, flicks his tail, and whinnies. The first time Katy showed Tex's animations to Lydia, it seemed to scare her. However, later, she would go up to him and pet his nose. Then today, out of the blue, Lydia took her comb and started grooming Tex. I caught a little of this on video.

Glad to see she is learning lesson that if you take care of your things, they will take care of you. (Something Daddy Ed (my grandfather) told me once when he was teaching me how to polish my shoes.)

She was also babbling "Da Da Da Da. . . " a couple of times today. She may not have been actually addressing me, but I'll take what I can get. Now, she really needs to learn to say "Mama" by Sunday. . .

Our friend, Alicia, brought dinner over to us early today so she could catch Lydia during her waking hours. (Lydia actually stayed awake until 3:30 PM today. Making progress.) Lydia had fun playing with Claire and was curious about baby Evan. She really enjoyed the bunny crackers they brought for her.

Added a new ticker to the blog. This is to help us keep things in perspective.

Also, posting some more pictures of our cutie. Enjoy.
